I take this opportunity to thank the Almighty for leading and guiding us during the past 29 years. Distinguished chief guests , dignitaries on the dais and parents good evening . This is a year of great blessing which has created a lot of achievements , creativity and harmony. The school believes in imparting value added education that will bring forth an overall development of the student . To implement this, our school inculcates physical, intellectual, moral, spiritual and social values in the minds of students so as to transform them into greater personalities . Our system of education is a blend of theory and practice in the right proportion to arrive at a comprehensive curriculum. Our Institution has a strong team of 150 staff who are devoted , dedicated and determined to the cause . Everyone here toils to make this arena a congenial one.

On this joyous occasion I would like to thank everyone who has been a stepping stone to achieve this goal. This success has become possible due to the strenuous efforts , consistency in purpose by the management and the staff to give every child the best he or she deserves. We do our best to prepare the students to be confident and tension free so as to usher them in a wave of new hope . We strive to equip them with the courage to face any challenges they may come across.

Academic Highlights

The high attainments of our students in academics speak eloquently of the dedication and single mindedness of our teachers and management . The results of std 10 and std 12 in particular stand testimony to this . Our student B. Harresh Kumar was the school topper who scored 1163 in H.S. Exam and Murali Mohan scored 1023 in the Matric Board examination . We are proud to say that many of our students have entered professional courses.

Awards

Among all the city schools our school has been awarded " The Best School " for its Eco - friendly environment by Vishwa Shewa. T he award was given by Justice Krishnan of Chennai High court . Our Correspondent Mr. Thiagarajan Marcus was honoured with the "Jewel of India Award" for the year 2006 by the central Defence Minister .

Our Principal was honoured this month with " Ideal Principal Award" by Akil Bharatya Nagrik Vikas Kendra .Tamil Nadu press and Media Reporters Union have honoured our school by awarding it " The Jambovan Award" 2007 and the "Best Classical Dancer Award" to Sajitha of Std XII , on 11/02/07.

Achievements

Our Primary school little folks took part actively in a handwriting and drawing competition organized by the " All India Citizens Development Centre" and won gold medals. Five of them bagged Kala Rathna Award .
O200 students of the Primary section took part in the fifth National Cyber Olympiad and proved their mettle by receiving medals. New Sunflower Social Organisation and Exnora Sports clup conducted a drawing competition. Our student Srinivaas of std XII won a prize. He received it from the Chennai Mayor. P. Subramanian. Even the middle and High school incumbents bagged prizes and won gold medals showing their excellence .Various Competitions were conducted by Forest Department during the wild life week ,organized for the in and around Chennai City Schools . Our school students won all the prizes in Quiz in the Middle, High and Higher Sec. School levels. In the wild life elocution competition 2 & 3 prizes were won by Shruthi Sambavi of std XI and Aarthi of std IX respectively . The District Science exhibition was organized at the district level and our school secured 3rd place for the best exhibit, 1st place in the High School level Quiz competition and 2nd Place in Higher Secondary level . The award was given by an Mr. Kuppusamy - M.P.

Talent Promotion Award" was given by the Chennai Mayor to N. Praveen of std IX for his talent in playing keyboard and Krithika of std VIII for Veena conducted by Lions Club. R. Gopinath of std 10th received 2nd prize in the Inter School Drawing Competition organized by Tamil Literary Association Ambattur . Seem as Educational Institution conducted Mental Arithmetic Competition Kannan of std 6 won the 1st prize.

Seminar

  • Two of our teachers attended a seminar on " Various Behaviour modification" conducted by Prof. Veena Iswarya.
  • There was a workshop on the topic "An Effective and Efficient Teacher" conducted by Prof. Lazer Selva from Loyola College. He emphasized that " Education is a Celebration ."
Mrs. Radhika of CFBT conducted a seminar for the teachers to enrich the teaching methodology. The School believes in producing young Ramanujams. Hence invited eminent people from Ramanujam Institute of Mathematics to conduct a seminar and elucidate the importance of mathematics. Our school strives to equip our students to face their challenging future with hope. The college of social work called on our school and presented the career making talk to create the awareness and scope for the future.

Sports
The Indian Cricketer Mr. Venugopal Rao inaugurated the 29th Annual Sports Meet and graced the occasion . The certificates , medals , cups and shields were given away by the co - chief guest Mrs. Kavithaiyini Rajeshwari from the Doordharsan. We give extra care to sports both indoor and outdoor. The school provides special coaching to bring out the latent talents . Among the 18 teams that participated in the Ramavathar Kanodia Memorial Inter School Criket Tournament , our school and won the trophy and the cash award of Rs. 3000 . Mukunthan of std XI - the skipper was adjudged the player of the tournament and was given a special cash award of Rs. 1000 . In the Hussain Memorial Inter school foot ball tournament , among the 20 leading Schools , our school was the runners up . N. Praveen of std IX became the winner of the chess competition conducted by Athletic Association of Ponneri Education District schools and won many prizes in the district and Zonal levels . He also took part in the National level , at Hariyana and became a rated player . R. Sivashankari of std VI got the first place in the district level chess championship in the under 10 category . Our school cricket team represented the district and combined district cricket tournament.

Scouts & Guides
The Bharat Scouts and Guides celebrated their centenary with great pomp and show in Kolkata 17 of our scouts and guides participated with enthusiasm and won the Adventure Award . The photograph album of the adventures of the Bharat Scouts and Guides of our School was released by the TamilNadu Chief Director Dr. Paramasivam . It is indeed a matter of great honour that 9 scouts and 5 guides received Rajiv Puraskar . Five Scouts and Five guides received Rashtrapathi Award. Std V Bulbul unit has received 35 Golden Arrows and Cubs unit has received 14 Golden Arrows so far .

Educational Tour
A 7 day Educational Tour to Yercad , Black Thunder & Ooty was organized to make the curriculum interesting so that the theory and practicum together to provide a complete value based education .

Celebrations
The National festivals were celebrated to inculcate patriotism and make the students feel proud to be Indians . The Carol Singing day recalled the purpose of birth of the Jesus Christ. The school Choir's musical note made the audience glorify the Lord .

School Alumni
The school is proud to have a number of doctors , engineers and people from different walks of life as the old students . It is felt that the vision of the founder has come true .

Picnic
Our teachers were out to Kishkintha for a day to relax and have fellowship with their co - teachers. It is with a deep sense of humility and gratitude ,that we present these achievements . All these are the gifts of God to those who think and toil all their lives for the service of mankind . May God be the way of our life as He always has been . Thank you ,
